The Use of Object–Oriented Datamodels for Biomolecular Databases

چکیده

New biochemical and computational methods have led to an explosion in the available biomolecular data. Thus the management of large databases has become one of the important applications of computational tools in biomolecular research. From a data management viewpoint the main difficulties in managing biomolecular data are related only to a minor degree to the quantity of available data. Databases of much larger sizes are common in many application areas. The challenge is to deal with the complexity of the data with respect to the data structures, integrity constraints and algorithms. Thus conventional data management approaches, like file–based data management or relational database management systems, are not able to deal adequately with the typical requirements of biomolecular data management in general, despite of the fact that they are frequentely used to cover certain applications of the area. Thus the interest has risen in using object–oriented data models and data base systems for biomolecular data management. Object–oriented data models were especially developed to satisfy requirements from application areas where data and operations are intrinsically complex, like engineering, science or document management.

Schema Integration for Object Oriented Database Systems

View integration is an important technique for developing software systems built upon large databases independent which paradigm is used for realizing the database. We analyzed to which extent traditional view integration methods cover all aspects of object-oriented datamodels and found, in particular, that the integration of methods is hardly supported. We present a methodology for integrating...

Objects Identification in Object-Oriented Software Development - A Taxonomy and Survey on Techniques

Analysis and design of object oriented is onemodern paradigms for developing a system. In this paradigm, there are several objects and each object plays some specific roles. Identifying objects (and classes) is one of the most important steps in the object-oriented paradigm. This paper makes a literature review over techniques to identify objects and then presents six taxonomies for them. The f...

Fundamental Concepts of Object Oriented Databases

It is claimed that object oriented databases (OODBs) overcome many of the limitations of the relational model. However, the formal foundation of OODB concepts is still an open problem. Even worse, for relational databases a commonly accepted datamodel existed very early on whereas for OODBs the uniication of concepts is missing. The work reported in this paper contains the results of our rst in...

Change Detection Gamasiab River Margins in Kermanshah by Comparison Pixel Base and Object Orientd Algorithms

Introduction Land use reflects the interactive characteristics of humans and the environment and describes how human exploitation works for one or more targets on the ground. Land use is usually defined on the basis of human use of the land, with an emphasis on the functional role of land in economic activities. Land use, which is associated with human activity, is undergoing change over time....

On Attributes of Objects in Object-Oriented Software Analysis

One of the modern paradigms to develop a system is object oriented analysis and design. In this paradigm, there are several objects and each object plays some specific roles. There is a sequence of activities to develop an analysis model. In the first step, we work in developing an initial use case model. Then in the second step, they identify a number of concepts and build a glossary of partic...
